Job Summary:
A Pediatric Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Oakland, California. Candidates will be working on a pediatric medical-surgical unit supporting a diverse patient demographic, including adolescents, infants, and children. The role involves providing specialized nursing care within a busy environment and requires candidates to bring their license on the first day. This position offers a 10-hour day shift with variable start times.

• Required Qualifications: Valid California RN license, BSN required for all RN positions, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications, at least 2 years of nursing experience, experience in a teaching hospital, and EMR proficiency with Epic and Cerner systems.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous trauma level experience, pediatric medical-surgical unit experience, and demonstration of prior charge nurse responsibilities.
• Certifications: AHA BLS, PALS, CPAN.
• Additional Information: The role involves caring for patients with diagnoses such as sleep disordered breathing, leukemia, fractures, neuro issues, cardiac procedures, and more. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Candidates must have experience managing ports, airway assessments, arterial lines, medication reconciliation, and other complex procedures listed in the position description.
