The Surgical Technologist (ST) provides care within the healthcare framework as defined by the ASC/AST and regulatory standards, while adhering to the ethical guidelines established by the ANA code of ethics. The ST ensures safety in practice, embracing evidence-based principles and taking responsibility for their professional growth. As a vital member of the interdisciplinary team, the ST employs the nursing process to tailor care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

Required:

• Graduation from an accredited ARC/ASTA Surgical Technology program, including documented clinical hours.
• Availability to respond to on-call emergencies.

Preferred:

• Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist.

• National Certification in Surgical Technology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

• Full-time schedule from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM.
• 10-hour shifts, four days a week, with one variable day off.
• On-call duties are mandatory.

• Independently scrub on surgical procedures.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of sterile techniques.
• Act as a patient advocate in the surgical environment.
• Report any safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
• Delegate patient care responsibilities appropriately among healthcare team members.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Set and assess priorities consistently, implementing interventions with measurable outcomes for improvement.
• Perform other essential duties as required.
