Custodian, Full-Time - PM Shift

Description Full‑time custodian for PM Shift. 3:00 - 11:30 p.m. Job Summary Full‑time custodian for PM Shift. 3:00 - 11:30 p.m. Qualifications High School Diploma or its equivalent. Ability to read basic operating instructions. Ability to use basic hand tools. Aptitude for performing routine custodial and maintenance tasks. Such qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Performance Responsibilities Keeps buildings and grounds, including sidewalks and driveways safe and clean, including snow removal. Regulates heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity. Checks daily to ensure that all exit doors are easily accessible and all hardware is working properly. Sweeps or vacuums assigned areas daily and dusts furniture. Cleans and disinfects toilets, floors, sanitary fixtures, and drinking fountains daily. General cleaning of the building. Washes all windows on both the inside and outside at least twice each year. Maintain landscape as necessary. Keeps all floors and walls in a clean and attractive condition. Inspects all playground, sports and gym equipment and reports problems immediately to their supervisor or corrects any safety hazards. Cleans entryways and office area windows daily. Cleans all marker boards at least once a week. Assists with replacing filters in heating/cooling units as necessary. Assumes responsibility for opening or closing of the building, securing all doors and windows, and turning off all lights. Keeps an inventory of tools, equipment and supplies. Assists in an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep/repair and report promptly. Moves furniture or equipment for various activities as required. Complies with local ordinances and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash and recyclable items. Monitors building rentals. Responds for emergency calls. Processes and responds to work orders as needed. Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned. Working Conditions 12‑month position, 8 hours per day. 3:00 - 11:30 PM.
