Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.SummaryThe Procurement Specialist II with moderate supervision is responsible for the day-to-day purchasing activity of the company, following established company policy and procedures. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for working with supply chain management to communicate shortages, delays, and component obsolescence. The Procurement Specialist utilizes cost comparison tools, communicates and negotiates with vendors, and improves the overall purchasing process.ResponsibilitiesOwn end-to-end procurement lifecycle for assigned categories including materials, components, equipment, and servicesPurchase materials and supplies to support company objectives and ensure compliance with company policy, contractual flow downs and local laws.Prioritize purchasing activities based on schedule and lead timeReview engineering/costed BOMs to ensure the purchasing information is up to dateManage suppliers and ensure schedule is on trackSupports make vs buy decision via cost analysisCoordinate non-conformance with Quality and ask vendors for their root cause analysis.Support outsourcing, supplier qualification and supplier selectionNegotiate price, payment terms, lead time and long-term agreements.Works with engineering and production for purchasing/productionizing prototype BOMsCommunicate with management as shorts, delays, or component obsolescence surfaceCoordinate with accounting to ensure compliance with billing and taxationAssumes all other responsibilities as assignedRequired Qualifications8+ years' experience in procurement or supply chain, ideally within aerospace, aviation, defense, or similar environmentsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or Finance or equivalent experience.ISO9001/AS9100 experience preferredUnderstanding of procurement compliance in government contracting (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR)Knowledge of different commodities, materials and specs (mechanical, electrical, 3D-print, PCB's, cable harnesses, connectors)Experience in sourcing, supplier development, supplier assessment and cost reduction projectsExperience managing supplier KPI'sKnowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities operationProficient in MS Office and ERP systemsStrong Excel proficiency requiredAbility to take initiative and think proactivelyDemonstrated problem solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively across all levels of the organizationNegotiation skills and supplier management skills.Self-motivated with strong organizational skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teamsStrong attention to detailRedwire Defense Tech BenefitsMatching 401(k)Paid PTOPaid holidaysMedical, vision, and dental insuranceGroup Short-Term & Long-Term DisabilityHSA and FSA OptionsCritical Care PlanAccident Care PlanEmployee Stock Purchase PlanClearance RequirementsThis position may require access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations ("ITAR") and/or the Export Administration Regulations ("EAR").
