Assurance Senior Manager

GMCO is seeking an experienced Assurance Senior Manager to join our growing public accounting practice. This leadership role is ideal for a strategic, client-focused CPA who combines deep technical expertise with a passion for developing people, growing client relationships, and driving exceptional service outcomes.

As an Assurance Senior Manager, you will lead complex audit, review, and advisory engagements across a variety of industries, serving as a trusted advisor to business owners, executives, and key stakeholders. You will oversee executive-level client relationships, provide leadership across multiple engagement teams, and guide the delivery of high-quality assurance services while balancing client needs with firm priorities.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead and manage complex, multi-service assurance engagements across a variety of industries, providing strategic oversight throughout the engagement lifecycle while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, GAAS, regulatory requirements, and firm methodology.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive-level client stakeholders by providing business insights, addressing complex accounting and financial reporting matters, and helping clients navigate evolving industry, operational, and regulatory challenges.
• Build and deepen executive-level client relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and a thorough understanding of client objectives, priorities, and business needs.
• Manage engagement economics with strategic foresight and financial discipline , overseeing pricing, budgeting, billing, scope management, staffing, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent engagements.
• Deliver technical leadership by researching and resolving complex accounting, auditing, and reporting matters; serving as a resource to engagement teams; and helping drive consistency and quality across the assurance practice.
• Review and approve financial statements, workpapers, and client deliverables , ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, and readiness for shareholder review.
• Integrate cross-functional services by collaborating across practice areas, connecting client needs to GMCO's broader service offerings, and delivering coordinated solutions that enhance client value.
• Drive business development and portfolio growth by identifying opportunities within existing relationships, supporting cross-selling efforts, developing new business opportunities, and contributing to market expansion initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop managers, staff, and emerging leaders through coaching, performance feedback, career development planning, succession planning, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
• Champion organizational change and firm culture by leading strategic initiatives, promoting collaboration, modeling adaptability, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing team environment.
• Promote GMCO's brand and industry presence through networking, community involvement, professional organizations, speaking engagements, published insights, and thought leadership activities.
• Demonstrate and uphold core values including integrity, quality, innovation, stewardship, and inclusivity in all aspects of client service and team leadership.

Requirements

What makes you a fit

• Experience : Minimum 7+ years of recent public accounting experience in assurance, audit, or attest services, including leadership of complex engagements and client relationships.
• Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• License : Active CPA license required.
• Leadership : Demonstrated experience managing managers, developing future leaders, and leading high-performing teams.
• Technical Expertise : Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, financial reporting, and audit methodologies, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex accounting and assurance matters.
• Business Development : Proven ability to develop client relationships, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to portfolio expansion and practice growth initiatives.
• Communication : Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the executive presence needed to effectively advise clients, influence stakeholders, and communicate complex technical matters.
• Technology : Highly proficient with audit technology platforms, digital workpaper systems, Microsoft Office applications, and data analytics tools.
• Project Management : Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex engagements, competing priorities, and diverse teams while delivering exceptional client service and maintaining quality standards.

Compensation & Benefits

At Geffen Mesher, we value transparency and equity in compensation. The compensation offered for this position will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to: years of relevant experience, unique or specialized skill sets, education, licensure, internal equity, and location. The estimated salary range for this position is $135,000-$185,000 .
