Field Service Technician

Location: Oahu, HI (Supporting Oahu, Maui, Big Island & Kauai)
Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (travel time not included)
Compensation: $27-$30/hour based on experience
Travel: Extensive inter-island travel required
Overtime: Frequent overtime available and expected based on travel and business needs

Position Overview

As a Service Technician, you'll provide warranty and non-warranty repair services in customers' homes throughout Hawaii. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, traveling regularly, and solving problems on-site.

You'll diagnose issues, perform repairs, document completed work, and represent Milgard with professionalism and exceptional customer service.

This position is based on Oahu, but frequent travel to Maui, the Big Island, and Kauai is required. While schedules vary, technicians are typically on Oahu each Friday and may spend Monday through Thursday on neighboring islands.

What You'll Do

Perform Residential Repair Services

• Diagnose and troubleshoot window and door issues
• Complete warranty and non-warranty repairs
• Replace glass and components
• Conduct water testing and inspections
• Take measurements and document completed work
• Ensure all repairs meet company quality standards

Travel Throughout Your Territory

• Travel regularly between Oahu, Maui, Big Island, and Kauai
• Book and manage your own flights and hotel accommodations within company guidelines
• Adapt to changing travel schedules due to weather, delays, or cancellations
• Maintain flexibility regarding overnight travel as business needs require

Deliver Exceptional Customer Service

• Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners
• Represent Milgard in customers' homes
• Build positive relationships while resolving issues efficiently

Manage Parts & Materials

• Coordinate required repair parts with internal teams
• Review work orders for accuracy
• Ensure proper documentation of service activities

Work Safely

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Wear required PPE
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment
• Maintain a clean driving record

What We're Looking For

Preferred Qualifications

• Construction, glazing, remodeling, installation, or related hands-on experience
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
• Comfortable working from ladders and at heights
• Ability to access roofs and perform physically demanding work throughout the day

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Ability to travel extensively between islands
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to attend approximately three weeks of training in Tacoma, WA

Comprehensive Training

New hires will attend approximately three weeks of paid training in Tacoma, WA. Travel, lodging, and training expenses are covered by the company.
