Collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team. Provides direction and supervision to Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehab Techs in the area of patient care.AccountabilitiesPerforms appropriate initial occupational therapy evaluations and re-evaluations, and designs an occupational therapy plan of care (50%)Demonstrates working knowledge of diagnoses/conditions seen in occupational therapySelects, performs, and interprets the results of OT examinations of neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and pulmonary systemsAccurately performs and interprets standardized evaluations appropriate for the patientIdentifies actual or potential problems that would impact the OT treatment plan as well as the overall patient plan of careEstablishes specific treatment goals based on the results of the initial assessment.Designs the treatment plan appropriate for the patient's age, educational level, and cultural backgroundDesigns a plan of intervention that is coordinated and integrated with other servicesRevises the treatment plan as indicatedAssists with implementing and managing a specific and comprehensive treatment plan, and participates in patient discharge planning (15%)Demonstrates working knowledge of various Occupational Therapy techniques with flexibility and creativity in the implementation of these therapy techniquesInteracts with others involved in the patient's care to incorporate an interdisciplinary treatment approach for coordinated, quality careDemonstrates awareness and use of proper safety measures regarding the patients, others in the treatment area and selfReassesses patient status in response to treatments and goal achievement, redefines problems and modifies goals and treatments as indicatedProvides information regarding discharge and follow-up services as indicated which may include a referral to other community resourcesParticipates in patient and family education process (10%)Provides education and training to patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, progress, and long-term functional outcomesTeaches, counsels, and communicates with the patient/family/caregiver educational information related to the patient's diagnosis/conditionProvides educational material to patients/families as indicatedComplies with departmental policies for documentation (10%)Documentation is in compliance with the chart review audit componentsDocuments all aspects of assessment, planning, treatment, and discharge in the medical record in a legible and timely mannerLong-term and short-term goals are appropriate and measurable within a specified time frameTreatment notes are clear, succinct, and contain information regarding treatment progressionAppropriate abbreviations and medical terminology are utilizedProductivity (5%)Meets the team / department productivity standardsComplies with established standards of efficient scheduling to maintain appropriate levels of productivitySupervision (3%)Assists with supervision/mentorship to Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy AssistantsExercises sound judgment in delegating task to Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehab TechsProvides feedback on performance in a professional, tactful and beneficial mannerDepartment and Team Responsibilities (5%)Completes assignments in a timely and thorough mannerAssists with care and maintenance of departmental equipment and suppliesCompletes charge/productivity sheet and gives to person responsible for entering charges in an accurate and timely mannerDemonstrates willingness to assist and is respectful of the rights of other team members.Complies with department policies and proceduresAchieves annual goals (2%)Establishes annual goals with managerProvides supporting information related to the progress made toward achieving established annual goalsConscientiously seeks consultation or supervisionMinimum EducationBachelor's Degree Occupational Therapy from an accredited programRequired Certifications/Registrations/LicensesSC OT licenseWork ShiftDay (United States of America)LocationRoger C Peace Rehab HospFacility1010 Roger C Peace Rehabilitation HospitalDepartment10107373 Inpatient RehabilitationShare your talent with us!
