General Labor

This general labor position supports soil mixing and production activities in a busy manufacturing facility. You will work with a team to mix and sort soil, move materials throughout the plant, and assist with changeovers to keep production running smoothly. Candidates with hands-on experience in construction, automotive oil changes, landscaping, or similar physical work environments often transition well into this role.

Responsibilities

• Mix and sort soil according to established procedures and production requirements.
• Gather raw materials and supplies needed for soil mixing and production runs.
• Move materials and finished products throughout the facility using appropriate methods and equipment.
• Assist with changing over materials and setups between production runs to minimize downtime.
• Support production operations by performing general labor tasks as directed by the production team.
• Work safely with chemicals and soil products, following all safety guidelines and using provided personal protective equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in a dusty, high-activity environment.
• Perform outdoor and indoor tasks as needed, including physically demanding work such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
• Communicate effectively with team members and follow instructions to meet production goals.
• Adapt to different general labor roles within the facility based on operational needs.

Essential Skills

• Experience performing general labor in physically demanding roles.
• Experience in construction, landscaping, automotive oil change, or similar hands-on work environments.
• Ability to work in outdoor and non-climate-controlled conditions, including heat in summer and cold in winter.
• Comfort working in a dirty, dusty environment and around chemical processes.
• Capability to lift, carry, and move materials safely throughout the shift.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule, including both day and night shifts as assigned.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment correctly.
• Reliability and strong work ethic in a production and manufacturing setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in construction, landscaping, or oil change mechanics is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with chemical processes or working around industrial materials is a plus.
• Ability to independently organize and gather materials needed for mixing tasks.
• Previous experience in manufacturing or production environments is advantageous.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in an open-bay manufacturing facility with a non-climate-controlled environment. The work area can be very hot during the summer and cold during the winter, and the nature of the products creates a dirty, dusty atmosphere. The position follows a 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour shifts from either 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., typically working two days on, two days off, and three days on, with alternating sets of weekdays and weekends on and off. You will work both day and night shifts over time, as the operation runs continuously. All necessary personal protective equipment is provided to support safe work in this industrial setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sardis, MS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
