This position operates on a Night 3x12.0 schedule.

This is a 13-week contract position.

The Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed. Responsibilities include evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, explaining procedures and treatments, and educating patients upon discharge. The position involves operating both invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, administering medications, and performing various assessments and procedures related to respiratory care.

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments and operate various oxygen and aerosol devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning using appropriate techniques.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography as per policy.
• Review patient chest x-rays for further evaluation as necessary.
• Conduct pulmonary function studies and assist in respiratory-related procedures.
• Administer CPR according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Set-up and maintain mechanical ventilation on diverse equipment.
• Record treatment details and patient responses accurately.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient care.

• Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Experience with ventilator weaning required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
