• Pay Rate: $50.00-$51.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Day Shift (5x8 Hours), 7:45 AM - 5:15 PM; No weekends
• Travel Requirements: Float required between the Matthews and Ballantyne Clinics (14.1 miles / approximately 20 minutes)
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a Registered Nurse - Chemo contract role within a Hematology & Medical Oncology infusion clinic setting. The unit currently accommodates adults over the age of 18 with hematology and medical oncology diagnoses, with 10 infusion chairs available. Mixing techs and pharmacy handle all mixing. The clinic will accept first-time travelers, and local candidates are also accepted.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy to oncology patients
• Utilize central line access in the delivery of patient care
• Work within a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Float between the Matthews and Ballantyne Clinics as required (14.1 miles / approximately 20 minutes)
• Operate ambulatory infusion pumps as special equipment
• Utilize unit systems including Pyxis, Epic, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
• Complete unit orientation (8 hours, varies by skill level); attend Hospital Orientation during week one; remain available for classes each day
• Comply with pre-shift COVID screening as per facility requirements

Required Skills

• Ability to administer chemotherapy
• Central line experience required
• Minimum 2 years of oncology-specific experience
• Familiarity with Pyxis, Epic, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams

Preferred Skills

• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification preferred

Education Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BCLS certification required
• ONS Chemo/Bio Card required (A MUST)
• NC state RN license required

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of oncology-specific experience required
• First-time travelers accepted

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Patient population: Adults over the age of 18; Hematology & Medical Oncology
• Unit capacity: Currently 10 infusion chairs (configured to accommodate social distancing)
• Scrubs: Navy blue; not provided by facility
• No call requirement
• No weekend requirement
• Float requirement: May float between the Matthews and Ballantyne Clinics (14.1 miles / approximately 20 minutes)
• Pre-shift COVID screening required as per facility requirements
• Flu vaccine required (Medical/Religious Exemptions only)

Important Notes

• RTO after booking is NOT allowed and is NOT allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly result in a Cancel and DNR.
• RTO 7 days maximum for AYA Auto Offer.
• Travelers must be available for orientation classes each day during the orientation period.
