Summary Devens Reserve Force Training Area Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) supports the well‑being of the entire military community through high‑quality leisure and support services. Eligibility This position is open to U.S. Citizens, nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. non‑domestic nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. Duties Supervises and oversees the management and operation of a Fitness Facility up to 8060 sq ft. Continually assesses facility requirements and develops plans and specifications for projects to augment or replace fitness and sports facilities. Reviews directives from higher levels of authority and prepares implementing SOPs and updates regulatory guidance. Oversees the inventory of property; fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate. Requirements Direct deposit and a valid Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position. A one‑year probationary period may be required. Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E‑Verify) check. Must complete a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation. Management reserves the right to reassign employees to other facilities. Must successfully complete all pre‑employment checks in accordance with AR 215‑3, para. 2. Must possess and maintain the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, and a nationally recognized basic fitness trainer certification. Must complete required training: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service, and Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair). Qualifications Directly related work experience in planning, supervising, administering, or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching techniques of various sports. Highly Preferred Combination of education (undergraduate in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology) and the ability, knowledge, and skills to perform the duties identified above, including MWR Sports and Fitness Administration Course and Lifeguard Management.
