The Peer Coach – Guidance & Advocacy serves as a recovery-focused mentor, member advocate, and program support professional responsible for helping members successfully navigate their New Freedom journey. This role provides peer support, member orientation, housing coordination, program guidance, and recovery-focused mentorship while helping create a welcoming, supportive, and engaging environment for members

• Providing peer support, encouragement, mentorship, and recovery-oriented coaching to members
• Serving as a positive role model by demonstrating healthy coping skills and recovery principles
• Conducting facility tours and supporting new member orientation and engagement
• Helping members understand program expectations, services, and available resources
• Coordinating housing placements, room assignments, and housing-related logistics
• Supporting the Freedom Guide Program and developing member leadership opportunities
• Collaborating with clinical, admissions, facilities, housekeeping, and support teams to promote member success
• Maintaining accurate documentation and supporting program operations and member services

• Members feel supported, welcomed, and engaged throughout their recovery journey
• New member onboarding and orientation processes create a positive first impression
• Housing placements and transitions are coordinated efficiently and accurately
• Members are connected to resources, support systems, and opportunities for growth
• Recovery-focused relationships are built on trust, accountability, and encouragement
• Program documentation, operational processes, and service standards remain compliant and effective

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED
• Peer and Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) Certification required
• Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) designation required
• Minimum one year of peer support, behavioral health, recovery services, reentry services, or related experience (preferably 2 or more years of experience)
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain professional and ethical boundaries
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems
• Lived recovery experience and willingness to appropriately use that experience to support others preferred
• Experience in residential treatment, behavioral health, substance use treatment, corrections, or reentry programs preferred
• Experience conducting orientations, mentoring, coaching, or facilitating groups preferred

This position works in behavioral health, residential treatment, recovery, reentry, and community-based environments.

• Frequent interaction with members, visitors, clinical staff, facilities personnel, and support teams
• Regular movement throughout facilities to support member engagement and program operations
• Frequent communication, coaching, mentoring, and relationship-building activities
• Occasional local travel for program-related activities
• Ability to respond appropriately to recovery-related, behavioral health, and operational situations
