Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid licensing and credentials as an Audiologist
• Previous experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations is highly preferred
• Familiarity with cochlear implants and their educational implications
• Comfortable collaborating with students, families, educators, and related support personnel
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to write clear, comprehensive reports and recommendations

Role Responsibilities:

• Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the incoming kindergarten student with a cochlear implant and normal hearing in the opposite ear
• Assess the impact of the hearing difference on classroom performance and participation
• Provide recommendations for the type and amount of support or intervention services necessary for optimal learning
• Consult with teachers of the deaf, general education staff, and family members to ensure holistic understanding and accommodations
• Remain up-to-date with best practices in hearing screening and interventions for school-aged children
• Document findings and recommendations in accordance with school or district protocols
