Service Desk Technician

Job Title: Service Desk Technician

Location: Albany, NY Onsite

Engagement: 1 Year | 37.5 hours/week

Pay: $25-28/hr

Primary Responsibilities
Communication (highest priority)

Windows 11, troubleshooting and good communication skills, ability to troubleshoot printers, computers

Troubleshooting skills

Soft Skills (Primary Focus)

White glove/VIP customer service and bedside manner with users

Ability to de-escalate upset users and craft well-written responses

Self-starter; able to work without constant supervision

Experience with a help desk ticketing system

Ability to lift 50 pounds to desk height

Computing hardware deployment and imaging

Technical Skills (Entry-Level Familiarity Sufficient)

Printer and hardware troubleshooting, vendor communication, scheduling

Certifications not required but viewed positively as evidence of self-led learning

Asset management experience is a plus

Experience with asset management.

Experience with mobile device management.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:
PowerShell or other scripting languages. Building and managing reports. Experience supporting users while traveling or away from common equipment. End-user training experience. Technical writing experience.

Education & Certifications
Any one of the following: An associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related area. An unrelated degree plus one year of directly related work experience as noted above. Three years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Technologies & IT Systems Used
Office 365, Windows, Salesforce, SharePoint, Webex, Jira, and others.
