Patient Care Technician I, Per Diem, Days 8am-4pm, Rheumatology, West Orange

Accountabilities: Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools. * Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision. * Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards. * Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time. * Taking vital signs: Typically performed before a patient sees a doctor to establish a baseline for future exams * Assisting with examinations: Working closely with physicians to perform clinical tasks * Collecting and preparing laboratory samples: Instructing patients on how to collect samples or drawing blood * Excellent Communication, Work Ethic, Active Listening, Adaptability to working in fast pace environment, and hold upmost professionalism at all times. Strong written and communication skills * Greeting patients: Welcoming patients to the facility and Scheduling appointments: Organizing appointments for patients * Maintaining medical records: Recording patient medical histories and vital signs in the computer system * Cleaning patient rooms: Sanitizing and reorganizing patient rooms between visits * Prepping examination rooms: Ensuring the exam room is ready for the patient, including disinfecting equipment and stocking supplies * Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care. * Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment. * Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.

Preferred:

• 1 year of experience in Health Care services.
• Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.
• 2+ Years Experience in outpatient, ambulatory setting
• Excellent Communication, Work Ethic, Active Listening, Adaptability to

working in fast pace environment, and hold upmost professionalism at all times

• BLS upon hire
• EPIC or similar EMR system
• Ability to work within computer systems
