Water/Wastewater Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Water/Wastewater Engineer to support the planning, design, delivery and improvement of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role will contribute to a varied portfolio, including treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, drainage systems, storage assets and network upgrades. You will work closely with engineers, technicians, project managers, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders to develop practical, compliant and sustainable solutions that meet client and community needs.


Your responsibilities will include preparing feasibility studies, calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings and schedules; assessing existing assets and identifying opportunities for improvement; supporting hydraulic modelling and process design; and contributing to the preparation of cost estimates, programmes and risk assessments. You will assist with site investigations, surveys, construction support, inspections, commissioning and performance reviews. The role also involves reviewing technical documentation, monitoring quality, resolving engineering issues and ensuring that designs and project activities comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, health and safety requirements and environmental objectives.


Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental, chemical or water engineering, together with relevant experience in water or wastewater infrastructure. Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic principles, treatment processes, pipeline and pumping systems, or related assets is required. Experience with design and modelling software, technical reporting and project delivery will be advantageous. You should be able to manage competing priorities, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, and work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Professional registration, or progress towards professional registration, is desirable. A proactive approach, sound judgement and commitment to delivering safe, sustainable and high-quality engineering outcomes are essential.
