DutiesInspects and confirms that instruments work properlyFollows principles of aseptic technique and prescribed procedure room proceduresMaintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delaysCorrectly uses, cares for and cleans instruments, supplies and equipment, using high level disinfectants per policy and according to Manufacturer’s Instructions.Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safetyResponds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physicianAssists the physician in the procedure room according to established guidelinesAddresses patient needs during admission to the endoscopy room, with attention to requirements specific to the outpatient settingIdentifies the patient and correct procedure according to policy and procedure and communicates with all members of the medical teamProvides comfort, reassurance to patient and maintains patient’s privacy and dignityL. Explains procedures and care to the patientM. Provides continuity of patient care by communicating with other perioperative carepersonnel and documenting records accordinglyN. Performs with competence in emergency situationsO. Ability to check in patients if receptionist is absentP. Performs specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedureQ.
