Key Qualifications:
- Current and active licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in school-based settings
- Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive curriculum development
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored for visually impaired students
- Provide direct instruction using specialized strategies, materials, and technology
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusion and accessibility
- Consult with families to empower them with tools and resources for continued support at home
- Perform ongoing assessments to track student progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed
- Participate in professional development and maintain compliance with all district and state requirements
