Payroll & Benefits Specialist - Job Description Maintain knowledge of all payroll and benefits software and websites used. Maintain knowledge of relevant laws and policies and procedures Recommend development and revision of employee benefit programs by examining, evaluating, and optimizing employee understanding, acceptance, and interests, costs, regulatory requirements, and competitive advantage. Prepare for any benefit audits, including 401k, and consult with the auditors Collaborate with internal staff, temps, and accounting on changes to or questions about payroll & benefits Prepare and submit reports required or requested Process annual open enrollment Prepare annual forms and filings for the controller to review and submit Pay and file payroll taxes, workers comp, deductions, garnishments, etc. Send Annual Notices as required for payroll and benefits All other duties as assigned Requirements Essential Skills Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and regulations for employee benefits High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality Outstanding organizational and time management skills Meticulous and vigilant attention to details Excellent written and oral communication skills Analytical and critical thinking skills Deadline-driven Requirements BS/BA in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field Professional certification (e.g., SHRM) is a plus 3+ years working experience in Human Resources, payroll, or benefits #J-18808-Ljbffr
