Senior Accounting Specialist

counting Clerk Full-Time | Birmingham, AL We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team. This position will provide day-to-day accounting support while serving as the primary backup to the Accounting & HR Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong Accounts Receivable experience and be able to contribute immediately with minimal training beyond learning our internal systems. Responsibilities Process customer invoices and maintain Accounts Receivable records Apply customer payments and reconcile customer accounts Monitor aging reports and assist with collections as needed Match purchase orders to vendor invoices and forward approved invoices through the Accounts Payable workflow Assist with daily cash receipts, deposits, and account reconciliations Enter accounting transactions accurately and maintain organized financial records Support month-end closing activities and other accounting projects Cross-train to provide backup support for the Accounting & HR Manager Serve as backup for payroll processing during absences or peak periods Assist with additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience Strong Accounts Receivable experience required Experience matching purchase orders to invoices and processing invoices preferred Payroll experience or the willingness to learn payroll processing as a backup Ability to work independently and become productive quickly with training on company systems Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Manufacturing accounting experience is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr Career Personnel Services
