Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring a Critical Care Float RN for a night shift assignment at an academic Level I Trauma center, requiring multi-ICU float experience and a WI or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Critical Care Float position covering multiple ICU units including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery, as well as IMC/Progressive/General care populations,
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30,
• Every other weekend rotation required,
• Some holiday coverage required,
• Floating required as needed across ICU and step-down units,
• Uses Epic charting system,

Job Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required,
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only),
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred,
• Minimum 5 years of experience preferred; 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years required in the specialty,
• Academic Level I Trauma center experience required,
• Teaching hospital experience preferred,
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred,
• Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the past 12 months,
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation with strict passing criteria,
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration,
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation,
• Experience with cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation/paralytics,
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure,
• CRRT/CVVHD experience preferred,

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties including Burn, Cardiovascular, Neuro, Surgical, and Trauma ICUs,
• Work in a Magnet-designated, academic Level I Trauma teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital,
• Experience with ECMO, IABP, Impella, and Swan Ganz monitoring is preferred,
• Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgical care preferred,
• Manage patients with CVA/acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury,
• Skilled in infection prevention, isolation precautions, and dysrhythmia management,
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted,

• Travel experience required, specifically within an academic Level I Trauma center setting
