Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Corporate Attorney in Ann Arbor, MI, to support a diverse portfolio of business clients across various corporate and transactional matters.

Duties

Serve as a legal advisor providing strategic guidance on corporate matters
Advise on entity formation, restructuring, and governance
Lead corporate transactions from due diligence to closing
Draft and negotiate commercial and corporate agreements
Counsel on regulatory and compliance matters
Identify risks and develop risk-mitigation strategies
Support business dispute resolutions through various methods
Advocate for clients while maintaining professionalism and ethics
Monitor developments in corporate law to provide informed advice
Collaborate with legal staff to deliver high-quality services

Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate law or related field
Active license and good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
Experience handling corporate and business law matters independently

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

Active license with the State Bar of Michigan

Skills

Experience with closely held businesses and owner-operated companies
Strong drafting and negotiation skills
Ability to communicate legal concepts clearly to non-legal clients
Self-directed with the ability to manage matters independently
Practical, solution-oriented legal approach

Benefits

Base salary plus fee-split compensation structure.
