Maintenance Mechanic

As a Maintenance Mechanic you will be performing emergency and preventive maintenance on production equipment in a high-growth manufacturing environment. This role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, performing routine inspections, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently to support continuous manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency maintenance and repairs on production machinery to minimize downtime.

• Conduct regular mechanical checks on equipment, including inspecting bearings, motors, and other critical components.

• Grease and lubricate machines according to preventive maintenance schedules and manufacturer specifications.

• Check for mechanical lag, abnormal noises, vibrations, and other signs of equipment wear or malfunction.

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks to extend equipment life and reduce unexpected failures.

• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.

• Interpret and work from blueprints and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment problems.

• Assist with PLC troubleshooting as needed to support equipment functionality and performance.

• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in accordance with site procedures.

• Collaborate closely with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work and maintain safe, efficient operations.

• Participate in training during the initial Monday–Friday schedule and transition to the rotating 2-2-3 shift schedule (6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.).

• Follow all safety policies and procedures while working on and around machinery and equipment.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience as a maintenance mechanic or maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

• Strong skills in preventive maintenance and mechanical repair of industrial equipment.

• Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, including troubleshooting and repair.

• Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting and identify root causes of equipment failures.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

• Experience with PLC troubleshooting support in a production setting.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for long periods.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when performing maintenance tasks.

• Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple maintenance priorities.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with leads and production teams.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
