Welder II (1:00pm to 9:30pm) 2nd shift

Welder IIAs a Welder II you will:Assemble, align, square up, fit, stiffen and tack weld a variety of subassemblies and assemblies of moderate to advanced complexity using B/Ms, steel tape, straight edge, squarer, clamps, jacks fixtures, templates and similar equipmentFit part using torch or carbon arc or hand grinding equipment to facilitate alignment and assemblySet up and regulate pressure for oxyacetylene torchSelect electrode size and type, tips and welding rod or wire as requiredRegulate gas for proper atmospheric control, current and voltage for proper penetration and fusing of metalsCheck and straighten gasket surfaces and grind excess weld from finished workLay out and secure work which may involve heavy parts and assemblies. Regulate current and voltage for proper penetration and fusion of similar and dissimilar metalsPerform moderate to advanced Mig/Tig Welding in various positions as requiredPerform preventive maintenance procedures as neededProvide personal tools as requiredMaintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsConserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job resultsContribute to team effort by training others in performance of welding tasks as neededInspect all work and insure it meets requirements prior to passing it on to the next operationDocument actions by completing production and quality formsTrain others on proper welding procedures and techniques.We are looking for someone who:Holds a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experienceHas at least one year of formal welding training or the equivalent level of experienceHas 3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environmentMust be able to safety use small hand and power tools, measuring tools, air tools and welding equipmentMust be able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of MaterialMust have basic computer skillsMust be able to perform Mig and Tig welding in various positionsThe physical demands of the job are:Work is classified as Medium - Heavy Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational TitlesFrequencies - Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34-66%); Continuous (67-100%)Lifting Demands:Lift up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis floor to waist with assistanceLift up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis floor to waistCarry up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis up to 25 feetPush/Pull up to 40 pounds on a frequent basisPush/Pull more than 40 pounds on an occasional basis with assistancePostural Demands:Standing – continuousWalking – continuousBending/stooping – frequentSquatting/kneeling – frequentLifting – frequentMiscellaneous Demands:Gripping, manipulation, fingering –continuousVariable hand/power tool use – frequentTwo-person tasks using assistive devices for lifting, pulling and pushing including engine stands hand trucks, pallet jacks, and hoistsMust remain medical cleared to wear PAPR or SAR welding respirator helmetWhat we offer you:Pay Range is typically between $27 - $31 per hour plus shift differential.Please note the pay information shown above is a general guideline.
