Medical Receptionist (Patient Coordinator) Sabates Eye Centers is seeking a Medical Receptionist (Patient Coordinator) in Kansas City, MO 64111 - St. Luke's Plaza Office. Travel to other offices in the Kansas City metro area will be required as needed. We do pay mileage reimbursement! Full Time Our offices are open from Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday 8am-12pm. You may need to work a little earlier/later as needed. You will not work every Saturday, as everyone rotates working Saturdays! Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave Answer phones (both external and internal); assure prompt, courteous service at all times Practice urgency at all times with patients' time, as well as Doctor's time and schedule Manage patient flow in the office Knowledge of common fees charged for common visits and collect correct payments Complete daily reconciliations / close day / countdown cash drawer General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times Desire to gain industry knowledge and training Demonstrates initiative in accomplishing practice goals Ability to grow, adapt, and accept change Consistently creating a positive work environment by being team-oriented and patient-focused Commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business Reliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations with minimal notice Minimum Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Minimum Required: One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience None Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%). Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.
