Supervisor Of Materials Management

The Supervisor of Materials Management will assign employee location as activity dictates. Separate job duties are significant only to the location of the job being performed.

Responsibilities:

• Communicates professionally and effectively with patients, families, physicians, coworkers, hospital departments, community agencies, and external partners through phone, electronic, and in-person interactions.
• Responds to questions, concerns, and requests in a clear, timely, and service-oriented manner, using appropriate follow-up, communication channels, and chain of command to prevent service delays.
• Shares relevant patient and departmental information with appropriate care providers to support continuity of care and timely resolution of issues.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and educate in support of individualized patient care.
• Collects and evaluates patient physical, psychosocial, and health history information to support care planning and prioritization.
• Plans and implements patient care, physician orders, treatments, and care plan interventions accurately, timely, and in accordance with established standards.
• Educates patients and families based on assessed learning needs, abilities, readiness to learn, and barriers to learning.
• Responds appropriately to emergency situations and follows established emergency protocols and drills.
• Uses the medication administration system in compliance with applicable requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Supports a respectful, team-focused work environment by assisting with orientation, training, process changes, staffing needs, workload coverage, and improvement suggestions as appropriate.
• Models professional, customer-focused behaviors that reflect the hospital's mission, vision, values, quality principles, Standards of Behavior, and service expectations.
• Follows hospital and departmental policies, procedures, standards of care, safety practices, infection control requirements, emergency protocols, risk management expectations, and corporate compliance requirements.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient, employee, hospital, disciplinary, performance, and pay-related information at all times.
• Identifies safety concerns, malfunctioning equipment, workflow issues, and opportunities to improve care quality, patient safety, service, operational efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Participates in department-based process improvement, organization-wide performance improvement, quality initiatives, and patient safety activities.
• Uses hospital supplies, equipment, technology, time, and financial resources responsibly and in alignment with department and organizational goals.
• Plans, prioritizes, and completes assigned work accurately, thoroughly, and on time while maintaining productivity, quality, and service expectations.
• Maintains required licensure, certification, registration, health work requirements, mandatory in-services, departmental communications, attendance expectations, and ongoing education as applicable.
• Supports hospital and departmental growth initiatives, positive community relationships, access to services, and activities that advance the organization's mission and goals.

Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Must have the ability to read, speak, and write the English language.
• Must follow oral and written direction.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) . BLS provider or obtain within 3 months of hire
