DEPARTMENT: Respiratory Therapy
SHIFT: 12 Hour Shifts
POSITION SUMMARYTo conduct diagnostic testing procedures and administer treatments to improve patients’ breathing as well as implement and monitor life support equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Assess, treat and care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.
- Assume primary responsibility for all respiratory care modalities
- Maintain patient records
- Select, assemble, check and operate equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education (or substitute experience) Required:
- Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certification
Minimum Experience Required:
- 1 year in acute care therapy
- Licensed nursing school in progress or completion
Experience Preferred:
- Experience with pediatric and neonatal patients
SKILLS:
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal, written and listening skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
