Position Developer & Data Process Engineer (Entry-level) Location Austin, TX Remote Status On-Site Job Id 418 # of Openings 1 Overview This is a full‑time, permanent hybrid Developer & Data Process Engineer role supporting both Research & Development and data processing operations teams. The position blends full‑stack application development with data pipeline and cloud infrastructure work, focusing on building scalable web platforms while processing, transforming, and validating large datasets generated from mapping systems. You must live in Austin, TX or be willing to relocate, as this is an office‑based role not remote. What You’ll Do Design, develop, and maintain modern .NET‑based web applications and APIs Build and support data processing pipelines for large‑scale mapping datasets Work with cloud infrastructure (AWS) to support application and data workflows Execute, monitor, and troubleshoot data processing workflows Write and maintain automation scripts (Bash/Python) Manage and deploy services using containerized environments Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions Debug, test, and optimize both application code and data pipelines Ensure system performance, reliability, and scalability What We Expect Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Ownership mindset with consistent delivery of results Ability to manage a mix of development, infrastructure, and data tasks Strong communication skills and ability to follow structured workflows Required Experience Strong experience with C# and .NET / .NET Core / ASP.NET Core Experience building REST APIs and backend systems Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design Strong SQL experience (SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL) Strong experience with Linux (Ubuntu 22.04 / 24.04) Experience working with AWS, specifically: EC2 (compute instances) S3 (storage and data handling) Experience using GitLab for version control and collaboration Strong experience writing Bash scripts for automation Experience using SSH for remote system access and management Experience working with Docker (containers, images, logs, volumes) Ability to troubleshoot data pipelines and system‑level issues Nice to Have Experience with Keycloak (identity and access management) Familiarity with server monitoring and observability tools Experience with Ansible or infrastructure automation tools Experience with Python 3 (data processing, scripting, or automation) Experience with CI/CD pipelines Familiarity with microservices or distributed systems Exposure to data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Dagster) Experience with Redis, caching systems, or message brokers Preferred Background 3+ years of experience in software engineering, full‑stack development, or data engineering Experience delivering production‑grade applications or data pipelines Experience working with large datasets or cloud‑based systems Compensation $95,000 per year gross salary Job Type: Full Time Location: Austin, TX Benefits: Included EEO Statement Voxelmaps is an equal opportunity employer.
