Corporate Controller – Laurel Lodging Location: Mount Laurel, NJ (Corporate Office) with visits to company hotels Employment Type: Full‑Time On Site | Executive Leadership Industry: Hospitality About Laurel Lodging Laurel Lodging is a multi‑property hotel investment, management, and asset‑management firm overseeing a diversified portfolio of Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Choice Hotels, Wyndham, and independent hotels across the Mid‑Atlantic and Northeast. With 24+ years of executive hospitality leadership, we specialize in operational turnaround, financial optimization, and long‑term asset value creation. We are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller with deep multi‑brand hotel accounting expertise to lead financial operations across our growing portfolio. Position Summary The Corporate Controller is the senior financial leader responsible for all corporate and hotel‑level accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit compliance across a multi‑brand portfolio. This role requires a seasoned hospitality finance professional who understands the nuances of Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Choice, and Wyndham financial standards, reporting systems, and brand compliance requirements. This is a high‑impact executive role supporting ownership, asset management, and operations with accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Reporting Oversee all accounting functions across a portfolio of multi‑brand hotels (Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Choice, Wyndham). Lead daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for all properties. Prepare consolidated financial statements, ownership reporting, and brand‑specific reporting packages. Ensure compliance with GAAP, USALI, franchise agreements, and brand‑required financial standards . Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, and capital expenditure tracking. Internal Controls & Audit Compliance Establish and enforce internal controls across all branded properties. Oversee night audit compliance, revenue controls, credit card reconciliation, and cash handling. Lead internal audits and prepare hotels for brand QA audits, financial audits, and lender reviews . Implement fraud‑prevention and risk‑management protocols. Hotel Operations & Support Partner with GMs/FOMs/Night Auditors, Regional Operations, and DOSMs to ensure financial accuracy, operational accountability. Review property P&Ls, labor models, cost controls, and GOP performance. Support new hotel acquisitions, transitions, and brand conversions across multiple flags. Corporate Finance & Strategy Support ownership with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and investment analysis. Provide financial insights for acquisitions, dispositions, and asset‑management initiatives. Lead annual budgeting and reforecasting cycles for all hotels. Systems & Process Optimization Oversee accounting systems and integrations with PMS/POS platforms across multiple brands . Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Ensure compliance with Hilton PEP, Marriott MARSHA/CI/TY, IHG Opera, Choice ChoiceADVANTAGE, Wyndham SynXis, and related financial systems. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 7+ years of progressive hotel accounting experience , including multi‑property and multi‑brand oversight . Strong knowledge of USALI , GAAP, and hotel financial operations. Hands‑on experience with Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Choice, and Wyndham financial standards and reporting. Expertise with PMS/POS and accounting platforms (e.g., M3 , Nimble). Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams. Preferred CPA, CMA, or CHAE certification. Experience in hotel ownership, asset management, or third‑party management. Background in acquisitions, transitions, or operational turnarounds.
