This opening may be in Roy, UT, Bellevue, NE, Manhattan Beach, CA, Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel Program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force\u2019s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure. \n\nWhat you will get to do: \n\nThe Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join the team supporting activities including use case development, requirements definition / allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification \u0026 validation, and requirements traceability.\n\nSpecific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:\n\n * Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.\n * Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large programs design.\n * Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.\n * Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).\n * Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.\n * Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration).\n\n\n\nThis position may be hired at the Principal Systems Engineer or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer levels depending upon applicant qualifications.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\nPrincipal Systems Engineer: \n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years of experience with Bachelor\u0027s degree, 3 years of experience with Master\u0027s degree, 0 years of experience with PhD\n * Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years\n * Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs\n * 1+ years of experience with requirements management/analysis/allocations OR Equivalent Graduate Certificate (e.g., CalTech SE Fundamentals)\n * 1+ years of experience with Model-Based Engineering / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages and/or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody or MagicDRAW OR Equivalent Graduate Certificate (e.g., CalTech MBSE)\n * 1+ years of experience with one or more of the following: C2, physical security, cybersecurity, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) systems/processes, communications systems, facility design, military aerospace development (e.g. Sentinel, Minute Man III, B-2, B-21 delivery systems)\n * Self-driven, able to tackle challenges, solve problems with minimal oversight and make recommendations for solutions/process improvement to leadership\n * Strong written and verbal communication skills\n\n\n\nSr. Principal Systems Engineer: \n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of experience with Bachelor\u0027s degree, 6 years of experience with Master\u0027s degree, 4 years of experience with PhD\n * Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years\n * Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs\n * 2+ years of experience with requirements management/analysis/allocations\n * 2+ years of experience with Model-Based Engineering / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages and/or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody or MagicDRAW\n * 2+ years of experience with one or more of the following: Command \u0026 Control (C2), physical security, cybersecurity, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) systems/processes, communications systems, facility design, military aerospace development (e.g. Sentinel, Minute Man III, B-2, B-21 delivery systems)\n * Self-driven, able to tackle challenges, solve problems with minimal oversight and make recommendations for solutions/process improvement to leadership\n * Strong written and verbal communication skills\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Active DoD Top Secret Clearance\n * Understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model\n * Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS\n * Experience in SysML or UPDM modeling languages\n * Proficiency with the DoDAF, UAF, or other modeling frameworks\n * 3+ years\u2019 experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools\n * Experience using tools to model large systems with multiple developers\n * Experience exporting documentation out of a model-based environment\n * Experience in Software and/or Hardware design\n * Experience in documenting Interface Control Documents, Interface Requirement Specifications, and Interface Description Documents\n * Experience with software defined hardware structures (i.e., software defined radars and field programmable gate arrays)\n * Experience with modeling and simulation programs such as the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM)\n * Experience with applying hypervisors, cross-domain solutions, multi-level security systems, or modular open systems approach to integrated systems\n * Experience with scripting and coding languages such as Python\n * Experience with Agile Development\n * Experience with ICBM weapon system sustainment The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.\n\n#SentinelSystems \n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $163,200.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $203,600.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
