SFE Engineering is looking for a motivated Building Inspector and Engineer to join our team in Flushing. This full-time, on-site position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals at the entry level to start their career in the Architecture and Planning industry.
As a Building Inspector and Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our construction projects comply with all local building codes and regulations. You will work closely with project managers and other engineering personnel to review plans, conduct inspections, and provide guidance on building practices. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of building projects for compliance with architectural plans and safety codes.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of inspections and findings.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to review design specifications.
- Assist in the development of inspection schedules and protocols.
- Identify and address potential compliance issues during construction.
- Provide recommendations for improvements based on inspection results.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders regarding inspection processes.
- Stay updated on building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software and building inspection tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Basic understanding of building codes and construction processes.
- A positive attitude and eagerness to contribute to team success.
