The individual is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the pre-award services and compliance, in collaboration with Director of SRP ensuring pre- and post-award compliance with federal and state policies and regulations. This role requires experience with NIH submissions, and the individual will be responsible for submitting proposals, including complex ones. The customer audience includes a complement of SOM units (Dean’s Office, the Division of Biomedical Sciences, the Division of Clinical Sciences, Center for Healthy Communities, Student Affairs, Undergraduate Education, and Graduate Medical Education), as well as collegial collaborators, external business partners, and community‑based organizations. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: conducting comprehensive analysis of a variety of funding mechanisms and awards; overseeing pre‑award initiatives; reviewing proposals to ensure institutional compliance; submitting complex proposals; assessing and resolving complex contracts and grants issues; and participating in operational planning and training activities, and collaborating on post‑award aspects to ensure continuity and compliance. Advanced knowledge of relevant regulations and requirements to satisfactorily meet government and UC reporting requirements for financial activities is required. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive administrative and budgetary support to principal investigators. Coordinate program development activities for SOM, including large and multi-institutional collaborations. Oversee operational aspects of pre-award services and compliance. Ensure pre- and post-award compliance with federal and state policies and regulations. Submit NIH and other complex proposals. Review proposals to ensure institutional compliance. Assess and resolve complex contracts and grants issues. Participate in operational planning and training activities. Collaborate on post-award aspects to ensure continuity and compliance. Maintain advanced knowledge of relevant regulations and reporting requirements. Qualifications Experience with NIH submissions and complex proposal development. Advanced knowledge of federal and state regulations and UC reporting requirements. Strong analytical and budgetary support skills. Ability to work independently and make decisions. Effective communication and collaboration across multiple units and external partners. Current work authorization to accept a UCR staff position (no visa sponsorship available). Benefits & Compensation Salary range: $81,500 - $150,100 annually, with an expected pay scale up to $115,000 annually. Base salary offers are determined by education, licensure, certifications, experience, and organizational needs.
