Defender for Cloud Engineer

Title: Azure Devops/Cloud Platform Engineer Location: Plano TX-Hybrid (3 days Onsite a week) Need locals Duration: 12+ months contract F2F Interview Role Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure DevOps Engineer /Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, automate, and operate enterprise-scale Azure cloud platforms supporting Data, AI, Analytics, and business-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure infrastructure, DevSecOps, platform engineering, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), cloud networking, security, and Kubernetes. Experience with AWS is desirable to support future multi-cloud integrations and disaster recovery strategies. Key Responsibilities:

• Design and manage enterprise Azure Landing Zones, Hub-and-Spoke architectures, and cloud governance frameworks.
• Build, automate, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM Templates.
• Architect, deploy, and support Azure services including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), App Services and Azure Functions, Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Key Vault, Azure Storage, Azure Monitor and Log Analytics, Azure Front Door, Azure Firewall, Virtual Networks (VNETs).
• Manage containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), Helm, and GitOps practices.
• Implement enterprise DevSecOps capabilities, including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, RBAC, PIM, Managed Identity, Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, observability, and automated incident-response capabilities.
• Support high availability, disaster recovery, platform reliability, capacity planning, and production readiness.
• Partner with Application, Data, and AI Engineering teams to streamline deployments and drive operational excellence.
• Drive cloud cost optimization, governance, scalability, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Establish and continuously improve platform engineering standards, automation, and self-service capabilities.

• 7+ years of experience in Azure Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure architecture and cloud services.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise / GitHub Actions, Terraform, Bicep, and ARM Templates, AKS, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Azure Networking - VNETs, Private Endpoints, NSGs, Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, Azure Security - Key Vault, RBAC, PIM, Managed Identity, Defender, Sentinel, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
• Proven experience building secure, scalable, highly available, and production-grade cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps, cloud governance, reliability engineering, and enterprise security practices.

• Hands-on AWS experience with EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Terraform.
• Experience supporting modern Data and AI platforms, including GenAI / LLM platforms, Data Lakehouse architectures, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure OpenAI.
• Relevant Azure certifications, such as Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate.
• Experience implementing enterprise platform engineering, developer platforms, and self-service cloud capabilities.
• Experience with GitOps, automated policy enforcement, platform observability, and cloud-native architectures.

AAW / Agent Platform This role will be responsible for building and operating the Azure platform foundation for AAW (Agent-as-a-Service) and the broader enterprise Agent Platform ecosystem. Key areas of ownership will include platform foundation and landing zones, AKS-based agent platform hosting, Agent-as-a-Service infrastructure, LangSmith / Fleet integrations, CI/CD and deployment automation, Infrastructure as Code, Cloud security and DevSecOps, Platform observability and operational monitoring, Enterprise networking and connectivity, High availability and disaster recovery, Production readiness and platform reliability, Cloud cost optimization and governance, Enterprise-scale operational support. AWS will serve as a secondary cloud platform to support future multi-cloud capabilities, integrations, and disaster recovery requirements.

Success in This Role The successful candidate will help establish a secure, scalable, highly automated, and self-service cloud platform that enables Application, Data, and AI engineering teams to rapidly deploy and operate production workloads while maintaining enterprise standards for security, governance, reliability, observability, and cost efficiency.
