CNC Mill Machinist

Join our family-owned machining shop located in Warren, MI, as a CNC Mill Machinist. Work in a cleaner environment with modern machinery, predominantly Mazak Mills & Lathes, along with a new CNC Mill Methods machine. This role involves creating diverse tooling for cold header/fastener machines, construction, and the aerospace division, producing up to 60 million parts annually.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the CNC Mill Methods machine from start to finish.
• Perform setups, tool changes, offsets, and run the machine.
• Edit programs using Mastercam and make necessary changes on the Fanuc controller.
• Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Utilize measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
• Ensure adherence to tight tolerances using primarily steel materials.
• Utilize experience from a prototype or similar job shop environment.

Essential Skills

• 6+ years of experience as a CNC Mill Machinist on Methods Mills.
• Proficiency in program edits on Mastercam and knowledge of G&M Code.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform precise machining tasks.
• Experience with Fanuc Controls.
• Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with 3-5 Axis machines.
• Mastercam programming expertise.
• In tooling for fasteners.

Work Environment

The schedule includes a first shift running from 4:00 am to 4:00 pm, with additional hours on Saturdays from 5:30 am to 10:30 am, totaling 45-55 hours per week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
