American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant with at least 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment history for a hospital-based OR position in Washington, DC. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical First Assistant At least 1 prior travel assignment required BLS certification required Active DC state license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable Experience in both acute inpatient and outpatient OR settings Proficiency with surgical first assist skills, electrosurgical units, and the full range of specialty cases listed 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained Responsibilities Work in a short-term acute care teaching hospital with 748 staffed beds Ranked among the top 50 heart and vascular centers in the country Both inpatient and outpatient OR settings Cases include bariatrics, ortho/spine, ortho/total joints, robotics, thoracic, orthopedics, ankle fusion, trauma, urology, and endocrine surgery Robotic and electrosurgical unit cases are part of the caseload Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM On-call, weekend, and holiday rotation required, with one weekend every 8 weeks (both Saturday and Sunday, 6:30 AM–3:30 PM) 13‑week contract Position is based at a major academic teaching hospital in Washington, DC Scrubs are provided by the facility All time‑off and scheduling requests must be disclosed upfront BSN credential should be listed in candidate profile if applicable Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs #J-18808-Ljbffr Newsandtribune
