Fleet Technician (So.-No Grp.#)

Job Responsibilities This position is 2nd shift (hours are 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm) The Fleet Technician (So.-No Grp. #) performs the following duties:

• Maintains, repairs, and services vehicles and equipment that are essential to other work groups to ensure that they are safe, functional, and available when needed and in accordance with DOT regulations
• Performing troubleshooting and diagnosing current or potential vehicle and equipment malfunctions
• Temporary or permanent repairs and component rebuilding on trucks, construction, automotive and auxiliary equipment
• Preventative maintenance
• Miscellaneous duties as required or assignedMinimum Qualifications
• Applicant must have a minimum of two years’ experience as an automotive or truck mechanic within the past four years
• Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and meet the company’s requirements for driving
• The selected applicant must obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) within 90 days of entry into the job
• The applicant must comply with DOT commercial driver’s license (CDL) drug and alcohol testing requirementsTesting requirements

Construction and Skilled Trades (CAST) - Other level: Comprehension of pictured mechanical principles such as gears, levers, pulley systems, water flow, etc.; arithmetic skills in calculating distances shown in prints and drawings; and the ability to read and understand written material.
