About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg / Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Nights

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | 36 or 48 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute professional and clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Provide nursing care to patients in a Med Surg / Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit setting, including management of chest tubes, tracheostomies, continuous bladder irrigations, femstops, drains, and central lines
• Administer and titrate vasoactive and specialty medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical records system for documentation and patient management
• Float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (required); Iowa license required upon offer
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a relevant clinical setting
• Proficiency with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines
• Experience administering and titrating vasoactive and specialty drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, Argatroban)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Valid driver's license
• Taxable address must be located more than 50 miles from the facility
• Must not have been employed at the facility within the last 12 months

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least one prior travel nursing contract completed
• Experience working with EPIC EMR
• Familiarity with high-acuity PCU or stepdown patient populations
