Operational Account Coordinator

Required Skills & Experience: 2+ years of experience in freight, 3PL, transportation, logistics account coordination, or customer-facing transportation operations. Experience owning day-to-day communication for a customer account, including shipment updates, escalations, appointment coordination, and proactive communication around delays or exceptions. Hands-on experience working within a Transportation Management System (TMS) and managing shipments from initial booking/order entry through pickup and delivery. Working knowledge of domestic ground transportation, including FTL, LTL, and/or intermodal freight, with the ability to understand shipment boards, load details, appointments, and consolidation opportunities. Strong attention to detail and written communication skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume workload, maintain accurate shipment information, and clearly communicate exceptions to customers and internal operations teams.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience: Experience with e2open TMF, Descartes Aljex, Open Dock, or similar transportation/dock management platforms. Experience supporting high-value, security-sensitive, cross-border, or SOP-driven customer accounts with defined escalation procedures.

Job Description: The Operational Account Coordinator will serve as the primary operational point of contact for an assigned customer account, managing ground shipments from the initial booking request through execution and delivery. This person will receive and validate customer shipment requests, build accurate bookings within the customer platform and TMS, and review existing loads to identify consolidation opportunities before creating new shipments. Throughout the shipment lifecycle, they will monitor operational boards for delays, exceptions, appointment changes, and other issues while proactively communicating updates and resolutions to the customer. They will work closely with internal operations, capacity planning, and warehouse teams to coordinate pickup and delivery appointments, maintain accurate shipment information across systems, and escalate operational or security concerns when necessary. This role requires someone who can manage a high volume of activity while remaining detail-oriented, organized, and confident communicating directly with customers in a fast-paced freight environment.
