Student Supervisor/Yard Duty

Student Supervisor / Noon Duty Student supervision follows school calendar: 1 opening: Williams Jr/Sr High School, 3.75 hours/day, Monday-Friday, 11:30am-3:15pm. Supervisors will monitor students in areas assigned, with particular attention to the health, safety and conduct of the pupils involved. The position normally works over the lunch period; however, assignments could cover recess, bus monitoring and playground intramural activities assigned at other times during the school day. Supervisors are expected to model appropriate behaviors and to enforce the basic school rules when on duty. Examples of responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provides a consistent pattern of supervision on the school grounds. Handles all minor behavior problems as they occur. Monitors the grounds to insure the safety of students. Encourages all children to participate in organized, healthy activities. Advises the administrator of any situation or condition that might pose a threat to the safety of students. Example of duties include the following: Monitors areas as assigned by the administrator with particular attention being given to the health, safety and conduct of the pupils involved. Works in the cafeteria, parking lot or play ground during the lunch period and at other times as assigned by the administrator. Maintains a firm but respectful and courteous attitude toward the pupils, parents, and staff. Reports all suspicious or unauthorized activities to the administrator. Refers the students to the office for correction. Performs related work required. Education/requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desirable. Must be able to speak and understand English with knowledge and skills necessary to monitor and communicate with school children. Must pass Department of Justice fingerprint process. Work schedule: 2 hours per day, 180 days per year. Directly responsible to the site administrator. Williams Unified School Dist
