Teacher For The Visually Impaired

Key Qualifications
- Valid and active Illinois teaching license and certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- CTE endorsement required
- Demonstrated experience working within school settings in a similar capacity
- Strong understanding of functional vision assessment and media assessment procedures
- Ability to carry out focused classroom observations and collaborate effectively with educational teams
- Comfortable with in-person work; virtual evaluations are not permitted for this assignment
Role Responsibilities
- Perform a comprehensive functional vision assessment for the assigned student
- Conduct a thorough media assessment to determine optimal learning materials
- Observe the student within the classroom environment and offer professional insights
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to relay findings and recommendations
- Complete all required documentation to support evaluation results
