Shipping and Receiving ClerkThe Shipping and Receiving Clerk works in a highly automated, climate-controlled production facility that manufactures totes and crates for major retail and automotive customers. In this role, you handle finished goods at the end of the production process, including stacking, palletizing, labeling, and decorating totes according to customer specifications, while performing quality checks and ensuring accurate inventory transactions.ResponsibilitiesPerform assembly, decoration, and packaging operations for finished goods at the work center.Stack, palletize, and organize finished totes and crates in designated areas.Apply labels, hot stamps, and decorative elements to products based on customer requirements.Complete visual quality inspections of parts produced at the work center while performing assembly operations.Identify and communicate work center, work order, and part quality concerns to appropriate team members.Learn and take on new position responsibilities by following the internal growth and cross-training plan.Participate in safety and team meetings, contributing ideas to improve operations and the overall work environment.Apply finished goods (FG) labels, scan items into inventory, and move finished goods from machine locations to their next destination.Audit inventory in production locations to ensure physical product and transactional records match as reflected in the MRP system.Utilize tablets to print labels with accurate pallet quantities based on work order requirements.Stand, twist, bend, reach, and walk throughout 12-hour shifts while safely handling materials.Handle general material movement tasks such as picking, kitting, packing, and shipping and receiving activities as needed.Why Work Here?You join a company that invests in your well-being and long-term success through comprehensive benefits and a supportive culture. The site operates on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule with multiple 12-hour shifts: day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with alternating on/off days across the week. Work is physically active and performed mostly on your feet, involving standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, climbing steps, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Steel-toed shoes are required as part of the dress code. Modern technology, including tablets and an MRP system, supports inventory control and labeling tasks, and the facility emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and efficient workflows.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ottawa, KS.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
