Account Manager

PTP

PTP is a leading IT and Cloud Managed Services provider specializing in the biotechnology and life sciences industries. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Account Manager with a strong track record of selling into the biotechnology and life sciences sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to drive new business and expand existing relationships by selling IT, SaaS, Cloud, or AI solutions that address critical needs in the biotech R&D environment. This individual will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, managing client relationships, and achieving revenue goals in collaboration with PTP’s technical and delivery teams. Key Responsibilities Drive new business development through networking, industry events, and direct engagement with biotech leaders. Develop and execute account strategies to achieve sales targets and expand client relationships. Position and sell PTP’s portfolio of IT managed services: CloudOps, DevOps SecOps, NetOps, FinOps and UserOps. Understand client R&D workflows, compliance requirements (e.g., GxP, HIPAA), and IT needs to align solutions effectively. Collaborate with PTP technical experts and partners (including AWS) to design and present tailored solutions. Negotiate contracts, manage the sales cycle, and ensure a seamless handoff to delivery teams. Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM hygiene. Serve as a trusted advisor to biotech executives, scientists, and IT leaders. Qualifications 5+ years of sales experience with a proven record of exceeding quota. Extensive experience selling into the biotechnology or life sciences industry. Success selling IT services, SaaS, cloud platforms, AI/ML, or related technology solutions. Strong network within biotech hubs (New York / New Jersey or Research Triangle Park). Ability to articulate complex technical solutions in business terms relevant to biotech R&D and operations. Skilled in consultative, value-based selling and account planning. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus). Why Join PTP?
