Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Electrophysiology

Description

This contract, on-site position offers an opportunity to provide specialized cardiac electrophysiology care within a collaborative clinical environment.

As a Locum MD in Electrophysiology, you will evaluate and manage patients with cardiac rhythm disorders, perform diagnostic and therapeutic electrophysiology procedures, and work closely with the existing medical team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. This Associate-level role is ideal for a physician seeking flexible, short-term engagement while maintaining a strong clinical focus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose patients with arrhythmias and other cardiac rhythm disorders
• Perform and interpret electrophysiology studies and diagnostic procedures
• Conduct catheter ablation and device implantation procedures as clinically indicated
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for electrophysiology patients
• Manage pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and other cardiac devices
• Provide consultations and collaborate with referring physicians and healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient documentation
• Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in patient education and post-procedure follow-up care
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the practice

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent medical degree
• Completion of an accredited cardiology residency and electrophysiology fellowship
• Board certification in Cardiovascular Disease with Electrophysiology subspecialty
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the State of Florida
• Proficiency in invasive electrophysiology procedures and cardiac device management
• Strong knowledge of arrhythmia diagnosis, management, and current clinical guidelines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and medical staff
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team-based environment
• Preferred: Prior locum tenens or contract experience in outpatient or hospital settings
• Preferred: Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

Setting: Inpatient (cath lab) and outpatient

Must be board-certified
