Medical Assistant 1.0 FTE Ruston, LA, US Ruston Rheumatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time position located in Ruston, Louisiana. SUMMARY: Assists with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Obtains medical history and vital signs Performs Scribe duties by documenting patient encounters in real-time into the EHR as directed by the Provider. Ability to rotate through both front and back office Front office duties include scheduling, checking in/out patients, insurance verification, collection of copays, answering phones, etc. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services. Conveys a positive image of the clinic. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE High school degree or equivalent required. 1 year of primary care office or urgent care setting preferred. 1 year of MA and Scribe responsibilities Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
