Assistant Professor

Position Summary The University of Georgia announces a tenure‑track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in the Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM). The mission of the CMM is to better understand the molecular and cellular basis of human disease and to develop new therapies, cures, and diagnostics. Successful candidates will develop a vigorous research program and integrate with the collaborative environment at the CMM and UGA. Responsibilities Establish a robust, externally funded research program. Mentor graduate students, undergraduate students, and postdoctoral research associates. Fulfill teaching obligations and participate in furthering the mission of the University. Qualifications Terminal degree in the discipline. Record of postdoctoral work, relevant research background, or independent funding. Commitment to developing a highly competitive research program in a collaborative environment. Preferred Areas of Research Neuroscience: neurodevelopment, neurodegeneration, neuroregeneration, synaptic dysfunction, age‑related cognitive impairment. Immunobiology: innate and adaptive immunity, host‑pathogen interactions, vaccine development, autoimmunity, cancer immunotherapy. Post‑translational regulation of cell communication and downstream signaling activities in health, aging and disease. Drug development: high‑throughput compound screening using physiological and disease models including human organoids.
