Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring VA or compact license, Epic proficiency, and prior travel experience.

Details

• Work on 5 West, a Med Surg/Renal/Diabetic unit within an MS/Tele department
• 1:7 patient ratios
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 3x12 or 4x12 schedule options available with overtime after 48 hours on 4x12 schedule
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating required
• Holiday coverage required within contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) in hand at time of consideration - no exceptions
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) via American Heart Association
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required - no exceptions
• Skills required: IV starts and telemetry interpretation
• Must pass facility EKG/telemetry competency test with 80% or higher (one attempt only, no remediation)
• No history of license or background hits permitted
• No history of fit test issues permitted (facility cannot accommodate PAPR)

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to a renal and diabetic patient population
• Located in Chesapeake, VA, in the Coastal Virginia region near Virginia Beach and Norfolk, offering outdoor recreational opportunities
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered for this RN position
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted for review and will be approved on a per-case basis
• 3 hours of pre-start orientation modules required (billable)
• First-time travelers will not be considered due to travel experience requirement
