Youth Care Worker - 2nd shift

Make a difference in the life of a child. Bashor Children's Home is seeking compassionate and committed Youth Care Workers to join our team. In this role, you'll provide direct care and supervision for youth in a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment. You'll play a critical role in fostering emotional growth, teaching life skills, and helping youth build a brighter future.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for youth.
- Supervise and support youth to ensure their physical and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Teach and model positive coping skills, emotional regulation, and life skills.
- Lead group activities that support social, recreational, and personal development.
- Monitor and document daily behavior, progress, and any incidents.
- Respond effectively to crisis situations, using de-escalation and emergency protocols when needed.
- Communicate regularly with youth and staff regarding progress and concerns.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and continuous learning opportunities.
- Follow all agency policies, procedures, and professional ethical standards.
Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Experience or training in trauma-informed care, behavior management, or therapeutic environments is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Dependable, calm under pressure, and effective at problem-solving.
- Willingness to work a consistent schedule, including rotating weekends and on-call shifts.
- Must pass background checks and drug screening as required.
Schedule & Compensation
Full-Time Shifts:
First shift: 6AM - 2:30PM | $18.05/hour
Second Shift: 1:30 PM 10:00 PM | $19.87/hour
PRN (As Needed): PRN Base Rate: $15.45/hour
First Shift: 6:00 AM 2:30 PM
Second Shift: 1:30 PM 10:00 PM
Third Shift: 10:00 PM 6:00 AM
Weekend Premium: Additional $3.00/hour for weekend shifts
Shift Structure:
Full-time staff on 1st and 2nd shifts work a 4-days-on / 2-days-off rotation
All full-time staff share on-call responsibilities and weekend rotations
