Absolutely. Since this is for a small sushi restaurant where the bartender will be the only person working that position each shift , I’d make the posting very clear that they need to be comfortable doing both bartending and serving/taking orders .

Bartender / Server – Small Sushi Restaurant

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and experienced Bartender / Server to join our team at a small, sushi restaurant.

This is a solo position each shift , so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently and can confidently take customer orders, make drinks, serve guests, and manage the bar area at the same time.

• Greet guests and provide friendly, attentive service

• Take food and drink orders accurately

• Prepare beer, wine, cocktails, sake, and other beverages

• Serve food and drinks to guests

• Manage the bar and keep the area clean and organized

• Handle multiple tables and bar guests at the same time

• Enter orders into the POS system

• Process payments and close checks accurately

• Communicate with the kitchen regarding food orders and special requests

• Restock beverages, glassware, and bar supplies

• Maintain a clean and welcoming restaurant environment

• Follow all alcohol service and restaurant safety guidelines

• Previous bartending and/or serving experience preferred

• Comfortable multitasking and working independently

• Able to take orders while preparing drinks and assisting other guests

• Friendly, professional, and customer-service oriented

• Reliable and punctual

• Able to stay organized during busy periods

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment

• Knowledge of cocktails, sake, beer, and wine is a plus

• Must be legally able to serve alcohol

Important: This is a one-person position per shift , so the ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently is essential.
