RN Inpatient Care Coordinator - Sitka, AK
Term/Duration: 13 weeks

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Inpatient Care Coordinator to oversee patient care progression, utilization review, and discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review patient records to evaluate medical necessity, level of care, length of stay, and quality of care.
- Coordinate utilization management, case management, and discharge planning activities.
- Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and monitor patient care plans.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, payer, and hospital utilization review requirements.
- Obtain and review medical records, treatment plans, and documentation for regulatory agencies and payers.
- Process appeals, maintain utilization review logs, and communicate with insurance payers.
Requirements:
- Active Alaska RN License.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- BLS
- Minimum 8 years of clinical nursing experience , including 3 years in utilization review, chart review, risk management, case management, or a related quality role.
- Case Management Certification (CCM, CCMC, NCQA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical necessity review, CMS regulations, ICD-9/CPT coding, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
- Flu vaccination required.
