Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift role at a hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and active Ohio state licensure.

Details

• Works within an adult critical care and emergency department setting
• Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Administers a range of respiratory medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, and Inhaled Nitric Oxide
• Performs airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Interprets Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating between campuses may be required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Active Ohio State RRT license required and must be in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
• Current certifications required: BLS and RRT (CRT also acceptable, but not in addition to RRT)
• High school diploma or official transcripts required for compliance
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or other formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible to work as travelers at this facility
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract, including travel to an in-state location if needed
